First Class

Teddy Bear's Picnic

It was lovely to meet all of our new furry friends today in the class.

The teddies got to try out all of the fun and games that we have in school and we even got to do some cooking and tasting.

School Tour

Our first school tour in three years so it was the first school tour for everyone on the bus today.

We loved meeting all the animals, feeding the goats, going for a train ride, playing in the indoor and outdoor play areas and hunting for fairies.

Happy Easter

Well done to everyone for putting in such a huge effort designing and making your fabulous Easter Bonnets; they were fantastic!

The children had great fun during the week with Easter egg hunts organised by 6th Class and Ms O'Brien and lots of Easter art was completed with Ms O'Leary.

Hope you all have a very happy Easter.

Visit from Rodney the dog

Today we had an extra member in our class....Rodney the dog.

He is an Assistance Dog and Ms O'Leary showed us all the tricks he could do and all of the commands he could follow. We all had turns to walk and brush Rodney during the day.

An Haka Gaelach

This week we were working on the Haka Gaelach as we continued our work for Seachtain na Gaeilge. Bhí siad go hiontach ar fad!

World Book Day

We all dressed up as our favourite book characters today. It was a great day of fun and games.

Well done to all the prize winners today!

Dance Class
with 6th Class

Thank you to 6th Class who gave us some dance lessons today. As part of Seachtain na Gaeile they have been teaching us the Dreoilín.

Yummy Pancakes

As a special treat today we made our own pancakes in school....they were flipping amazing!

We had lots of different toppings to choose from.

Special Visitors

Today we had two very special visitors to our class: Peanut and PJ.

These two puppies are just eight weeks old and they are going to be trained as assistance dogs.

A big thank you to Evelyn and Caroline for bringing these special puppies to see us.

Our lungs

We have been learning about our bodies for the last few weeks.

We know all about how our heart and lungs work and how to keep them safe and healthy.

Today we made a model of our lungs.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!

Today we celebrated in class with some lovely treats.

Santa visit

What a surprise we got on Friday when we were playing outside at lunchtime and Santa dropped by to see all the boys and girls.

He had a great chat with everyone and he told us that we are all on the good list!

Santa left a selection box for everyone in the school....thank you Santa!

Secret Santa

Thank you to all the parents who helped each of the children to prepare some fantastic Secret Santa presents for their friends. There was fierce excitement in the room as each of the children got a present and everyone ripped them open together.

Elfie's antics

Elfie has been up to his usual tricks again this year. Here are just a sample of the things he has been up to.

Late Late Toy Show

We prepared for the Toy Show by designing our own Christmas Jumpers for Ryan.

And today Elfie left us all a little treat to enjoy while watching the show.

Have a great night everyone.

Elfie is back!

Elfie arrived this week by Polar Express delivery and he has wasted no time getting back to his usual antics.

We were hoping that he might behave better this year, but he is being very bold so far.

Puking Pumpkin

We loved our experiment today with one of our freshly carved pumpkins. It looks like he was feeling very sick today.

Happy Halloween to everyone

Halloween Activities

The last day of school was one of fun and games for all of the school. Everyone dressed up and we raised money for the Mercy Hospital Heroes. These are just a few photos of the day.

Spooky Bats

We are working on the Halloween theme and this week we created a batty night scene.

Friday Feast

This week we were treated to some yummy toasties from our resident chef. A lovely treat after the Friday tests.

We have started using 'Six Bricks' in our classroom.

This is a fun way to learn lots of different concepts through play using just six different coloured bricks.

Football Training

Thank you to Pat Spratt who has been training us some new football skills.

Looking forward to seeing some of these players on future Cork teams.

The class have been busy creating some autumn squirrels and patterned owls.

We harvested some of the vegetables from the school garden: onions, carrots, cabbage and potatoes.
