Our School
We at Bweeng N.S have seen a lot of changes to our school building in the past few years. The first building on this site was opened in 1953. It was extended and refurbished with a grant received from the Department of Education and Science in 2007/08. With the money we refurbished the old building and added two new classrooms, an office, a staff room and a multi-purpose hall.
A classroom was added in 2012, and another in 2015. In 2025, a Special Class and a resource room were added onto our existing building.
There is also a playground and a playing pitch on the school grounds. We are very fortunate to have a very modern, bright, warm, spacious school. We are well resourced to look after the needs of our pupils. Every classroom is equipped with an interactive whiteboard. We also have the use of a collection of laptops and iPads.
EU Grant Funding
This school received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. This funding was used to upgrade the school's Wifi facilities and purchase extra devices to support students throughout the school.
