Soccer Blitz

Pupils from 4th, 5th and 6th class recently participated in a soccer blitz. There were several teams Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea and each took part in daily matches. Liverpool and Tottenham progressed to the final with Liverpool eventually coming out on top. The children showed great encouragement, skill, enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the tournament and it was enjoyed by all.

Mrs Sheehy, we will miss you so!

Today marked the end of an era for our school, as we said goodbye to our Principal Colette Sheehy.

She has been a fantastic teacher over the 21 years she has spent in Bweeng.

Not only has she been a dedicated teacher, but she has led our school as Principal through some big building projects as she watched our school grow from just two classrooms to the fabulous facility that we have today.

Her love of teaching, great patience and care shown to all of the pupils in the school was an inspiration to all of us over the years. She also had a great love of sport and the outdoors and encouraged all of the children to try out many new sporting activities.

Since hearing about the news of her retirement the children have been reminiscing over the many memories that they have of Mrs Sheehy.....fun classes, sports days, football and soccer blitzes, school tours, school hikes and much more! The children wanted to celebrate her retirement in a special way and have worked hard over the past few weeks 'in secret' on small projects to show her just how much she meant to each and every one of them.

We finally revealed all of our work to this special lady today, on her final day in Bweeng.

Mrs Sheehy, we have been very lucky to have known you and to have had you in our school. Today we celebrate with you; not only your retirement but the first day of the rest of your life.

We wish you health and happiness for the future as you make lots of memories on your adventures around the world. Make sure to send us lots of postcards so that we can follow your travels and be sure to call in to see us when you are home.

Halloween Fundraiser

On Friday we had our annual fundraiser for the Mercy Hospital Heroes.

All children dressed up and had a day of fun before starting our Halloween holidays.

Have a look at some of the scary outfits that were on show on the day.

Well done to everyone!

Happy Halloween and enjoy the break.
